Our Vision - Our Values - Meet The Staff

About The Solid Rock Church.

The Solid Rock opened its doors in Drogheda January 1994 when Nick & Janice Park drew together some youth and members of existing small Christian groups in Drogheda and began holding church services in a basement cellar in Old Abbey Lane.

The pulpit of that first meeting place was directly above an ancient well where St. Patrick is reputed to have baptized the first Christians in Drogheda over 1500 years earlier. The Church slowly increased over the next 6 years, outgrowing 3 more meeting places.

In late 2000 the Solid Rock began to draw an increasing number of worshippers from different nations as people seeking God were attracted to the powerful worship and passionate preaching which characterises the Church. Every Sunday for more than 3 years there have been new visitors drawn to the services.

Soon the Church outgrew the hotel ballroom where they were meeting, the largest public venue in Drogheda. In January 2003 the Solid Rock purchased a property on Ballymakenny Road and opened a new Worship Centre there in September of the same year. The growth has continued to over 600 members.

The Solid Rock in Dublin opened in January 2004. Today this rapidly growing daughter church is pastored by Emmanuel & Eveyln Might.

What we Believe.

The Church of God believes the whole Bible to be completely and equally inspired and that it is the written Word of God. The Church of God has adopted the following Declaration of Faith as its standard and official expression of its doctrine.

Declaration of Faith: The Church of God.

We Believe:

  • • In the verbal inspiration of the Bible.
  • • In one God eternally existing in three persons; namely, the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
  • • That Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of the Father, conceived of the Holy Ghost, and born of the Virgin Mary. That Jesus was crucified, buried, and raised from the dead. That He ascended to heaven and is today at the right hand of the Father as the Intercessor.
  • • That all have sinned and come short of the glory of God and that repentance is commanded of God for all and necessary for forgiveness of sins.
  • • That justification, regeneration, and the new birth are wrought by faith in the blood of Jesus Christ.
  • • In sanctification subsequent to the new birth, through faith in the blood of Christ; through the Word, and by the Holy Ghost.
  • • Holiness to be God's standard of living for His people.
  • • In the baptism with the Holy Ghost subsequent to a clean heart.
  • • In speaking with other tongues as the Spirit gives utterance and that it is the initial evidence of the baptism of the Holy Ghost.
  • • In water baptism by immersion, and all who repent should be baptized in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.
  • • Divine healing is provided for all in the atonement.
  • • In the Lord's Supper and washing of the saints' feet.
  • • In the pre-millennial second coming of Jesus first, to resurrect the righteous dead and to catch away the living saints to Him in the air and second, to reign on the earth for a thousand years.
  • • In the bodily resurrection; eternal life for the righteous, and eternal punishment for the wicked.

Accountability.

The leadership of the Solid Rock believes strongly in Biblical accountability. It is a Scriptural principle that we can only exercise authority if we ourselves are under authority. In order to provide better care and protection for God’s people the Solid Rock is part of the Church of God, with international headquarters in Cleveland, Tennessee. The Church of God is the oldest Pentecostal Church in the world, with over 6 million members worldwide. You can visit their website at www.churchofgod.org

The Solid Rock is also a full member of the Evangelical Alliance in Ireland.
