World Missions
The Solid Rock Church is a church which has a heart for missions. We take seriously Jesus' command to go into all the world and make disciples. As born again, Spirit-filled believers we know the joy and blessings that come from being a child of God and want to share this with others. Jesus came that we would have life, and have it more abundantly.
We have already organized several mission trips, mostly into central Europe but from 2006 we had increased the opportunities for our people to go on missions to countries across the world. These trips not only provided great blessings to those who were ministered to, but they also resulted in a refreshing, renewing and envisioning of our own people who went on them.
This Church is a World Missions Church, fully committed to playing our part in Christ's Great Commission to preach the Gospel to all nations. We have a World Missions Board that oversees the outreach of the Church to the world. Our various areas of focus and interest include:
-
Nigeria
We are working in cooperation with Pastor Harrison Akinsulie in the Middle Belt Region of Nigeria. Several of our pastors and members have ministered in this region, including a full scale medical intervention in August 2007. Currently we are engaged in a project to dig wells to provide fresh water for impoverished villages.
-
Ghana
A team from the Solid Rock Church visited Ghana in 2006 as part of the Church of God's International YWEA Project (Youth World Evangelism Action). As a result we were able to purchase 15 computers and equip an IT lab in the Pan-African Theological Seminary.
-
Turkey
This is a strategic gateway to the Islamic world. We are working with missionaries Mark and Karen Roberts to help present Jesus Christ as the hope and Saviour for the Turkish people.
-
China
A number of our pastors and members have visited China to worship alongside the underground church. Circumstances in China prevent us from giving too much information publicly, but this is a fruitful and exciting ministry.
-
North Korea
Evangelistic opportunities are extremely limited in this land, possibly the most 'closed' country in the world. However, we are supporting the Persecuted Church in prayer and are exploring other ways in which we can help.
-
Eastern Europe
WOur worship team has ministered in Ukraine, Bulgaria and the Czech Republic. We sent an Intercessory Prayer Team to Russia to prayer walk the streets of Moscow. Our Senior Pastor, Nick Park, has trained pastors and evangelists in seminars in Russia, Ukraine, Bulgaria, Latvia, Siberia, Romania, and Armenia.
